Taking responsibility – the Schmitt-Gruppe in the 21st century

Global warming, the scarcity of fossil fuel resources and concerns about future energy supply is undoubtedly one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century. Not only in the USA and Brazil, but also to an increasing extent in the EU and Eastern Europe, there is a constantly increasing demand for regenerative, renewable energy sources. Bioethanol (99.8%) especially will be of outstanding economic importance in the foreseeable future to come. Reason enough for the Unternehmensgruppe Schmitt to expand the production of bioethanol and proteins into their own hands.

On the one hand, this is promoted by the favourable political framework of the European Union: Kyoto Protocols, mineral oil tax reduction for biofuels, Renewable Energy Act and others. On the other hand, by the need for know-how and economic development in emerging markets and third world countries.

Worldwide, numerous companies from various industrial sectors rely on the plants of the Unternehmensgruppe Schmitt. With many of these companies there is a longstanding cooperation, which will continue for a long time to come because further development of the investments by the Schmitt-Gruppe will be mutually beneficial.
