The Unternehmensgruppe Schmitt employs and trains proven experts in the field of welding technology. Those responsible in the field of welding technology have the qualification of welding engineer or welding specialist.
The Welding Engineer (SFI), or International Welding Engineer (IWE), is trained in internationally standardised areas of welding technology, materials science, design and manufacturing, and has proven this knowledge in a professional manner. The diploma of the final examination is internationally recognised.
The Welding Specialist (SFM), or International Welding Specialist (IWS), is a more practice-orientated qualification, but a person who has it may act as a fully responsible welding supervisor in small and medium-sized companies.
The welding supervisor’s role is to ensure the quality of the welding work.
Our company has met the necessary requirements for DIN EN ISO 3834-2. Welding procedure tests are available for all our welding procedures in the corresponding areas of application.
Likewise, all welders employed are tested according to DIN EN 287-1 or DIN EN ISO 9606-1 and operator tests according to DIN EN ISO 14732.
